We stepped in to support ECJFC, based at Craigie Park Dundee, when their clubhouse was severely water damaged and half of the building condemned.
Straight away we raised the number of followers on their social media platforms by becoming joint administrators with the ability to post content and alerted the press to their plight. We started to tell their story and place in the history of their home town of Dundee.
We created a crowdfunding campaign with the local MSP and councillor in attendance at the launch event as well as the local television news crew, radio station and local newspapers.
They have also had the benefit of our research skills as we have conducted online and face to face interviews to find out what local residents and users of the club ground facility want from any development on the site.
We also ran a Sportsman’s lunch with John Brown, football columnist, playing master of ceremonies and speakers Jim Leishman MBE and Dick Campbell, Manager of Arbroath FC.
Work is now taking place at the site and a new club house being built through their own hard work and some support from us.
They now have a press file of newspaper cuttings, radio interviews and television appearances.
ACK also secured a grant for the Club and so together with the money raised at the Sportsman’s lunch and the crowdfunding campaign we have supported them to the tune of £28,600 in under 12 months!
